|Peace and Tranquillity on the Aire and Calder Navigation||05-09-2012|
|Situated on the outskirts of Castleford, West Yorkshire on the Aire and Calder Navigation, Lemonroyd Marina offers secure, peaceful and exclusive surrounds for their berth holders.
A short walk through Methley wood, lies the village of Methley, a former mining village, seeped in history and offering shops, pubs and restaurants.
Owned by the BWML Group, Lemonroyd marina has had substantial investment and berth holders can benefit from well-maintained facilities which meet industry standards and offer access to the basic facilities that berth holders need. This is why The Yacht Harbour Association is delighted to announce that after a reassessment, Lemonroyd has been awarded 3 Gold Anchors.
Lemonroyd marina offers moorings for up to 85 boats including narrowboats, wide-beams and canal cruisers. The pontoons are of a high quality and are easily accessible. There is also ample parking onsite for all berth holders.
Gareth Turnbull, TYHA General Manager says of Lemonroyd Marina, "This is a pleasant and well-run marina and with the introduction of toilets and shower facilities, this can only be a positive step for their berth holders".
Operation Director, Darren Bramhall says "BWML have been working hard to achieve Gold Anchor awards for the majority of our sites and we are pleased to be able to add this marina to those on our group which have already been successful and the acknowledgement by THYA in awarding the 3 Gold anchors is testimony to the efforts of my local team."
