Yacht CN 2012 29-11-2012
After nine months of intense preparations, the inaugurated Yacht CN 2012 was finally unveiled on the morning of 10th October 2012 starting with a two days "China Marina Conference", followed by a three days "Nansha Bay International Boatshow" which ran smoothly and all ended on 14th October 2012.

At the Conference Opening on 10th October, District Vice-Mayor Hwang Ka welcomed some 22 maritime leisure speakers from eleven countries followed by Eric Fok, Commodore of Nansha Marina declaring the Conference opened. These speakers are leading experts representing several marine industries and associations globally and has come together at Nansha to share their experience with over the hundred conference delegates.

During the conference in day one, Global Marina Institute's Chairman, Mick Bettesworth also took the opportunity to present the globally recognized "CMI Certified Marina Manager" to Albert Khong, General Manager of Nansha Marina.

On 11th October and at the Conference Closing Dinner, a reciprocal agreement was entered between Nansha Marina, Guangzhou and Raffles Marina, Singapore. The evening also witnessed the reciprocal signing ceremony between Nansha Marina, Commodore, Eric Fok and Raffles Marina, Chairman, Francis Lee followed by plague exchange. The Commodore of Nansha Marina, Eric Fok also took the opportunity to present a token of appreciation to all speakers and associations for their support in making this conference a success.

The Yacht CN 2012 - Nansha Bay International Boatshow was opened on the morning of 12th October .A lot of VIP guests including Vice Secretary of Guangdong committee of the CPC and Governor of Guangdong Zhu Xiaodan, Vice Chairman of NTADu Jiang,member of Guangdong provincial party committee and Secretary of Guangzhou city committee Wan Qingliang,Vice governor of Guangdong Zhao Yufang,Vice chairman of CPPCC Guangdong Committee Tang Bingquan,Vice Secretary of Guangzhou city committee and Mayor of Guangzhou Chen Jianhua,Member of CPPCC and Chairman of Chairman of Fok Ying Tung Group Timothy Fok and several other VIPs attended the opening ceremony.


Nansha Bay Internationl Boat Show Opening Ceremony


A total of 60 boats from 51 exhibitors were on display, the hi-light of the show were the Flagship - MY Helix, a 160 feet mega-yacht built in Holland which has attracted much attention. The other hi-light were the scaled down replica of Chinese Junk, which introduced much of the Chinese maritime's history and these replicas actually sail within the marina's water. Several sea trials were also organized by yacht dealers and builders, allowing potential buyers the opportunity to try out their favorite yachts off the marina's waters. A "Try Sailing Program" were also made available over the three days show, with two units of Far East 26 taking visitors out, to have a feel of what sailing is all about.

An exhibitors' Gala dinner were also organized on the evening of 13th October, where exhibitors, members of Nansha Marina and invited VIPs has all come together for a night of fun, wine and dine. At the dinner, Commodore, Nansha Marina, Eric Fok has thanks all the exhibitors for their support of Yacht CN 2012 and said:"With your support, the Yacht CN 2012 is such a success that it shall be an annual event of Nansha Marina and we looks forward to your continuous support, next year in making a bigger and better Boatshow - Yacht CN 2013"

The Yacht CN 2012 has since opened up the Pearl River Delta's market, by presenting the Nansha Bay International Boatshow to some fifteen thousand visitors over the three days show and where 17 yachts/boats were sold, amounting to over 100 million RMB in transactions.

The show has received width spread media coverage both locally in China and oversea, it has also opened another new page for Nansha Marina, in its effort of releasing it vision as a Marine Leisure Destination and Regional Boating Hub of Southern China.
