Following on from the successful inaugural launch of Aquavista in Bloom last year, the competition is making a comeback for 2024. Teams and customers across Aquavsita’s 29 inland and coastal marinas have been set the challenge of creating some stunning floral displays to make their marinas bloom with bursts of colour to provide lovely environments for spending time this summer. Towergate Insurance who are supporting Aquavista in Bloom for another year have supplied watering cans and seeds to each marina as part of their ‘here we grow again’ starter kit.
2024 is bigger and better than before with six award categories including the popular tubs and hanging baskets and upcycle project, plus a new challenge to see who can grow the tallest sunflower.
Last year Kings Waterside & Marina located in Newark, Nottinghamshire was crowned the ‘Outstanding Overall Site’ winner of Aquavista in Bloom. Extra prizes were also awarded to a moorer from each region to recognise their outstanding contribution to the competition.
Paula Hewitt, Marina Manager at Kings Waterside and Marina, said ‘Aquavista in Bloom brought our community even closer together, who knew we had so many keen gardeners? Watching Kings transform from great marina to an absolutely fantastic marina was a pleasure to witness and be a part of.’
Sales & Marketing Director at Aquavista, Debbie Hunt said ‘We’re excited for the return of this campaign which really created a sense of togetherness amongst crews and customers who took pride in improving the aesthetics of their marinas. Whilst seeing our marinas in bloom is the end result, and an impressive one at that; it’s the journey our communities go on that is really special. Having heard and witnessed how much joy it created last year I really hope to see more people getting involved in this initiative.
