MHPS

The past few years have seen enormous change and impressive growth for Marina and Holiday Park Solutions Ltd (MHPS), the company formerly known as RMCS.

In 2023, Managing Director, Stuart Baines became the sole controller and owner of the business, subsequently overseeing the relocation of the company to its new whopping 10,000sq foot headquarters, based in Cambridgeshire, England.

Martin Georgeson, Sales Manager, having joined the team in 2022, brought with him an abundance of experience and further strengthened the already savvy sales unit, led by Gemma Sikes, Office Manager. With a cumulative 70+ years of first-hand industry experience between them, MHPS’s sales team has comfortably become one of the most knowledgeable and experienced in the game.

The culmination of this wealth of experience can be seen with recent big project wins; working with the State of Guernsey & Ports Department; the commencement of works at the Parkstone Yacht Haven Marina; ongoing projects in operation at the Dun Laoghaire Marina, located just outside Dublin.

Earlier this year, a team of engineers carried out work in Guernsey, on behalf of the State of Guernsey and Ports Department. New pontoons and services were installed as part of a phased upgrade plan, at the Queen Elizabeth Marina. Further internal waterways projects; pump out systems; design, supply and installation of windfarm services; pontoon services and much more still to come on that project!

In conjunction with Parkstone Yacht Haven Marina, the Committee and its members have instructed MHPS to design, manufacture and install the electrical and water services across the site. Commencing on the 9th of September, the project is underway to deploy a full app and PC based management and metering system, requiring 5000kg of cable to be delivered to site.

The Triton system being deployed at the marina, supplied by MHPS, is unique in the way that it operates, in not requiring ongoing running fees per socket outlet, unlike many of its rivals. Funds are paid directly into the client’s account, providing both a full prepayment and repayment solution, with the option of monthly invoices also available. MHPS will be using the highly popular anodized aluminium range of pedestals on this project, with approximately 250 berths benefiting from the new system at the marina. All new cabling, service pedestals and WRAS approved water systems are being deployed throughout. MHPS will be working closely with the marina management team to ensure all regular services are maintained, whilst this extensive work takes place. Further improvements are likely to follow in the boat yard area, allowing the same operating system to control all electrical outlets across the entire site.

After 6 months in the design, we’re also excited to announce that Dun Laoghaire Marina - located just outside Dublin - has also given instruction to carry out the manufacture and supply of all new service pedestals and infrastructure.

Over 20,000kg of cable has already been delivered to site and installed over the last few months, replacing the ratty old cabling system that had seen better days - and had been plaguing the marina with issues - over the last few years.

As part of this huge investment, new 316L stainless steel distribution units will be installed throughout, along with water services and SOS stands. The Platinum and Sterling range of products will be installed, allowing customers to have full control of services with an app-based payment and control system. This year alone, MHPS anticipate 400+berths will be made live, with a further a 300+ berths to follow in the new year. This brings close to 2000 berths utilising the Triton in Southern Ireland, with many local authorities using the system due to the versatility. WIFI, GPRS and fixed wiring can be used for communication via either a cloud-based or an office-based server. Linking up with MMS software, the system offers a full solution for the marina staff.

We’ll be at the Southampton International Boat Show, in collaboration with THYA, in the Ocean Hall on Stand J150.
